This amazing video has been thrilling wildlife lovers across the region.
The footage, taken by Tony Wealleans, shows up to 40 dolphins swimming off the Tynemouth coast.
Mr Wealleans, who works on a charter boat that takes people out fishing, says they saw this wonderful sight when they were on the Blueye II on June 18.
It was just after 5pm when the group spotted the creatures, happily swimming around their vessel.
Mr Wealleans said: "We were taking our customers out fishing on the Blueye II and just after we left the Piers, we spotted the dolphins so we slowed the boat down.
"The dolphins weren't bothered about the boat, they seemed to enjoy it.
"They were quite happy swimming below and alongside the boat. There must have been about 40 of them.
"We'll be running wildlife trips on the Blueye II soon and hopefully the people on board will see the dolphins close up like I did.
"It was amazing to see them close up like that. We all forgot about fishing for a moment."
The video clip, which you can watch above, has since been shared by hundreds of people on social media.
