See how two-year-old boy who is obsessed with bin wagons had his dream come true

This young lad is so obsessed with bin wagons that he gets his mum to chase them around his estate.

Mum Sarah Scott contacted North Tyneside Council on Facebook to tell them just how much two-year-old Axl enjoyed watching the lorries as they did their rounds.

Every Friday, they go out to watch the wagons go by and the drivers stop to wave and give Axl a high five.

When North Tyneside Council found out about this, they decided to give the youngster a special treat and invited him to take a tour of their depot on Norham Road.

Whitley Bay primary pupils put the red-light on on excess traffic

Axl was introduced to the team, who showed him all the controls in a bin wagon, and he even got to go for a drive alongside the staff.

In addition, they got Axl a special present to mark his visit – his very own hi-vis jacket and a toy bin wagon to take home with him.

This all happened on International Happiness Day on March 20. And you can watch Axl's reaction in the video above.

Sarah, who lives in Battle Hill, said: "I had a very happy son on International Happiness Day thanks to North Tyneside Council inviting us down to see the bin trucks – because Axl is their number one fan!

"Getting to meet the team and go for a drive in one of the bin wagons was such a great experience for him and one I’m sure he’ll remember for a long time.

"We had such a fantastic day and the whole team was so welcoming to me and Axl, and not to mention he loves his new toy wagon – he hasn’t put it down since he got it."

One of the drivers, Darren Henderson, said: "We heard that Axl had his mum chasing after bin wagons through her message on Facebook, so we really wanted to bring him in for him to see the wagons and show him the ropes.

"It was an amazing day and he seemed to have a great time, so I’m glad we could do this for him."
