The Los Angeles Lakers are on their way to the NBA playoffs as the No. 7 seed after taking down the Golden State Warriors in exactly the kind of play-in game we all anticipated would be among the best contest of the 2020-21 season.
And it was thanks to a shot-clock-beating three-pointer from 34 feet out (at the Staples Center logo!) with under a minute left to play from — who else? — LeBron James that propelled the Lakers to victory.
Guess who was coming to close out on defense? Yep, it was Steph Cury.

My goodness. What. A. Shot. And he said he saw “three rims” and shot at the middle one after he got poked in the eye by Draymond Green on a hard foul a few minutes earlier.
