See Dippy the dinosaur assembled in Newcastle in just two minutes!

Dippy the dinosaur is a superstar and he is on tour - over 100 years since he first took up residence in London's Natural History Museum.

The Great North Museum: Hancock opens its doors to visitors today having spent the week carefully unpacking, cleaning, and assembling the 292 bones which make Dippy.

This fascinating timelapse video shows the staff in action in the Newcastle museum's exhibition hall as Dippy begins as just a handful of bones and becomes the impressive beast that he is - at 21.3 metres long, 4.3 metres wide and 4.25 metres high.

He is here until October, but no doubt young dinosaur fans - and older ones - will want to make repeat visits to one of the country's most famous diplodocus bones.

Don't forget to say hi to the museum's own T-Rex while you are there too!

Tickets are free, as is entrance to the Newcastle natural history centre, but you do Tickets for Dippy in Newcastle - here's how to book up to see the famous dinosaur skeleton into a visiting session.
