See Bubba Wallace’s sharp, new paint scheme for the Martinsville night race

For four of the first seven races of the NASCAR Cup Series season, Bubba Wallace has had sponsor Door Dash on his No. 23 23XI Racing Toyota. He’s mostly raced with a dominantly red paint scheme with white embellishments, including on the rear quarter panels.

But for Saturday night’s race at Martinsville Speedway, Wallace’s Door Dash car is getting a makeover.

After the first off weekend of the season, NASCAR returns to the track for the Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500. But fans might not immediately recognize Wallace’s No. 23 car on the .526-mile Virginia short track because his color scheme will be reversed, he and 23XI Racing announced Friday on Twitter.

And it looks pretty sharp.

With a new team — which is co-owned by Michael Jordan and fellow NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin and in its debut season — Wallace’s best finish of the 2021 season so far is 16th, coming at both Phoenix Raceway and Atlanta Motor Speedway.

At Martinsville, Wallace had a career-best 11th-place finish last season when he ran a #BlackLivesMatter paint scheme on his No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports Chevrolet. For Saturday’s night race, he’ll start 25th.

Since we’re talking about Wallace’s paint schemes, here’s a look at his car and schemes from every race so far this season.
