See all 8 (!) goals from USWNT’s thrilling comeback win over Australia

The USWNT took on Australia in a tune-up friendly before their next World Cup qualifying campaign, and it was a wild one.

The Americans took an early lead, surrendered it, fought back to regain the lead, gave themselves an insurance goal, gave up another goal, then finally put the game away to the relief of the U.S. fans in attendance.

Goals from Alex Morgan, Tobin Heath, Megan Rapinoe, and Mallory Pugh (twice) saw off Sam Kerr and the Australian team, though questions have to remain about the USWNT structure and defense after they gave up plenty of goals, again, against a team they should expect to beat.

More on that another time. For now, let’s enjoy all these goals.

Goals, goals and more goals. Pugh provided a major spark on the right wing as soon as she came into the game, and the Americans should get credit for fighting back after surrendering the lead.

They just need to tune up that back line, and questions about the management and tactics are going to remain until they start shutting teams out.
