PATTANI: A motorcycle bomb exploded in front of a security booth manned by volunteers in Mae Lan district on Friday morning, but all escaped injury.
The bomb was concealed in a motorcycle left parked in front of the booth in tambon Mae Lan. It exploded around 10.30am, said Pol Capt Ardae Mekha, deputy investigation chief at Mae Lan police station.
Security volunteers working from the booth were all unhurt, but a villager passing the area at the time was left with a ringing in his ears.
Police cordoned off the scene for explosive ordnance disposal officers to inspect.
