A security guard has been injured during a daring robbery of a cash-in-transit van in Tyrrelstown, west Dublin.
The robbery took place at 10am on Thursday morning outside a local supermarket.
The security guard was walking back to the van when he was approached by two men and attacked with what is believed to be a wheel brace, Dublin Live reports.
The men stole a cash box and escaped in a Skoda car which was later found burnt out in a nearby estate. Gardai confirmed they are investigating the incident.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardai at Blanchardstown Dublin 15 are investigating a cash in transit robbery which occurred at 10am this morning, Friday 12th April 2019.
"A male employee of a Security Company was walking from a retail outlet in Tyrellstown Dublin 15 with a cash box when he was approached by two males, he was struck with what is described as a wheel brace, the cash box was taken by the two males who made their getaway in a Skoda car which was later found burnt out in a nearby housing estate.
"Minor injuries sustained by the Security Company employee."
No arrests have been made and investigations into the incident are continuing.
