Security guard floors teen boys and 'chokes' them after being ‘slapped’ in arcade row

A security guard was caught on camera 'choking' two teenage boys as he floored them after being slapped in a row outside an amusement arcade.

The clash involving the unnamed door staff member and two 14-year-old boys - one of who is autistic - happened on Tuesday at the entrance to Golden Palms Amusement Arcade in Cary Parade, Torquay, reports Devon Live.

In the footage, filmed on a phone, one boy in a grey jacket can be seen talking to the guard at the door with multiple other youths heard chatting behind the camera.

Suddenly, there are gasps as the lad slaps the man and is quickly wrestled to the ground as one of his pals yells: "Mate, don't f****** choke him!"

Two other youths push the guard, one shouting "f*** you!" as he gets back to his feet.

After retrieving a radio that had fallen off his belt, the doorman then moves towards one of the other teens - dressed in black with red shoes - as someone repeats "don't f****** choke him!"

The guard gets him in a headlock and quickly floors the youth, saying "you like it, do you?" before leaving him on the ground and going back inside through a second door.

One unseen youth can be heard saying: "Mate, he just punched you in the face.

The guard then re-appears at the door to push back the first teen who appears to be trying to rush into the arcade while furiously yelling as another shouts "Alex!"

The teen in the red shoes can then be seen angrily punching the first door.

A parent of one the boys said they have reported the incident to the police, as well as the Securities Industry Association - which registers door staff - and complained to the arcade.

He claims his son - wearing red trainers in the clip and who is autistic - had only rushed to the defence of his friend as the dispute escalated.

The parent - who wished to remain anonymous - said the incident involved the guard and three boys at 5.30pm on October 26.

They have taken photographs of marks left on his son's neck and wrist.

The parent admitted that the first boy appeared to have slapped the guard: "I believe he did, yes.

"But that security guard should never have thrown a 14-year-old to the floor and then proceed to put his hands around the boys throat," he continued.

"All my son done was push this security guard off his friend.

"At the end the security guard films them all on his personal mobile phone and threatens all the kids saying he will find them when he finishes work."

A manager at Golden Palms said they had no comment to make on the video or whether the door security guard was still employed by them.

The Mirror has contacted Devon & Cornwall Police for comment.
