Section of M60 flooded as burst water main shuts lane

A lane has been shut on the M60 due to a burst water main.

Highways England have shared images of the flooded carriageway, blocking traffic clockwise from junction 27 for Portwood Roundabout and junction one for Travis Brow.

The water was initially flowing into two lanes, but just one is now affected.

It is affecting clockwise traffic and drivers are being advised to take care.

Motorway police officers are at the scene to assist with traffic problems.

A tweet from Highways England said: "There is a lane flooded on M60 clockwise J27 Portwood and J1 Travis Brow due to flooding from a burst water main.

"Traffic officers en route to assist."
