Section of Highland Perthshire A9 to be reduced to single lane to allow cabling works

A section of the A9 in Highland Perthshire will be reduced to a single lane for 12 nights to allow cabling works.

Road users are advised to take care on approach to the A9 Dualling: Luncarty to Pass of Birnam project as the northbound carriageway will be reduced to a single lane from Monday, October 18, commencing at Bankfoot South Junction.

The lane closure will be in place from 8.30pm to 6am each night to allow BT cabling works in the road verge to be undertaken safely, as part of the finishing works for the project.

The traffic management will commence on approach to the new Bankfoot South Junction on the first night for approximately 1.2km and progress north each night until the BT cabling works are completed at the northern extent of the project.

A Transport Scotland spokesperson said: “Road users are advised to allow additional time for your journey and take care on approach to the works area.

“The planned traffic management is weather dependent and is therefore subject to change, please refer to the Traffic Scotland website and Twitter @TrafficScotland for live traffic up-dates.”
