Sectarian graffiti left on walls in West Lothian street slammed by Nil By Mouth director David Scott

The anti-sectarian charity Nil By Mouth say the culprits should be made to clean up the hate-filled graffiti left on a West Lothian street.

The charity’s director, David Scott, was speaking after walls were tagged with sectarian slogans in Rowan Drive, Blackburn at the weekend.

He said: “The individual behind this needs to be caught and made to clean off every bit of graffiti in West Lothian between now and the end of the lockdown period.

“At a time when people from all walks of life are coming together to get through a pandemic it beggars belief that a nasty little bigot thinks they have some kind of right to spray this garbage on other people’s walls.”

A West Lothian Council spokesperson said: “Sectarian or any other type of offensive graffiti have no place in West Lothian.

“We have made contact with the property owner, and our team has now removed the graffiti.

“Anyone who has information on those responsible for the offensive graffiti can contact us on 01506 280000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
