Secret Santa leaves peculiar gift in Dublin Airport toilets because 'luggage was too heavy'

A Dublin Airport passenger left a peculiar present in the toilets as it was weighing down their luggage too much.

The secret Santa was hoping to soak up some festive cans wherever they were going - but sadly they underestimated the weight limit and the fuel had to be discharged.

Instead of binning his prized Guinness - he instead left them in the bathrooms accompanied by a note saying "luggage too heavy, enjoy :)"

A picture was snapped by Reddit user brothersinchrist2020 who posted it to the Ireland page where users were quick to have their say.

One person commented saying they'd rather get rid of the notepad and pens while another questioned the appeal of "warm toilet Guinness".

Another said: "I don't really understand how it being in the bathroom affects the contents in a negative way but it seems to freak people out."

One wrote: "Must have been a tourist , an Irishman would never leave his Guinness behind."

Peculiar gift left in Dublin Airport toilets because flyer's luggage 'too heavy' (Reddit)

It's not the first time the black stuff has had airport revellers confused - and judging by the toilet Guinness might be the best on offer there.

Last April there were calls to declare national emergency after an English woman was served a monstrosity of a pint before flying home.

Although we're used to seeing Guinness being botched abroad - there was no excuse for this poor goodbye dished out Wimbledon woman Kelly Jackson

Kelly jokingly told the airport to "sort it out", saying she sent the brew straight back to "horrified" staff.

Speaking to Dublin Live, the Londoner said the last of her euros went on the pint and that staff "apologised profusely" for the joke of a serving.

She said: "A young barman brought over a still unsettled pint of Guinness. I watched as it settled to what is now the photo, which has gained all this attention.

"Shocked, I swiftly took it back to the bar.

"The lady behind the bar looked at it in horror and apologised profusely.

"We shared a joke about it and they quirkily gave me a replacement and even a free soft drink for my troubles.

"It was all in good humour but made extra amusing as I was in fact in the home of Guinness: Dublin, Ireland. I took a quick photo and posted it on to my Twitter account.

She went on to say that she has been flooded with more worthy offerings from pubs after the dodgy pint made local news.

She said: "I was quite surprised to see this gain attention a short time after posting the picture and was then even alerted to a news agency in Dublin reporting on it.

"I’ve had some lovely offers from pubs and bars across Ireland to come and try their Guinness and I hope to be back in Ireland very soon to take them up on it."

Popular Dublin pub the Irishtown House were first to come to the rescue, while another man invited her to Mothermacs in Limerick for Munster's finest.

Others saw the funny side - with one prankster photoshopping a Cadbury Flake onto the top.
