Secret Irish New Year's rave draws big crowd as DJs perform at €10 per person event

A video has emerged showing a big rave in Cork on New Year's Eve.

CorkBeo reports the secretive bash went through Friday night and into the early hours Saturday having kicked off at a location in the Little Island area around 11pm.

Multiple DJs were booked in while party-goers were also treated to a great light show on top.

The video shows the countdown as people dance in the main court area while others can be seen chilling in an area above the decks.

Tickets for the bash were distributed online for just over €10 and those who signed up weren't emailed the location until the day it was happening.

The area picked out was far away from any homes and went unnoticed for the night.

Parties just like it have been happening up and down the country of late, and the pub closures have seen them gain in popularity.

On Stephen's Night one huge one was held at a well-known castle in Meath, but was broken up by a farmer.
