A second woman has died following a crash that killed two people and left another in critical condition in hospital.
Gwent Police have confirmed that a 53-year-old woman has died in hospital following a crash in Pontllanfraith that happened on Saturday, May 8.
A 51-year-old woman also died following the crash and a 29-year-old woman remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
The three women were in a Ford Fiesta when they were involved in a crash with a Vauxhall Astra on the A4048 by Sainsbury's at 7pm that day.
The 20-year-old man, who was in the Astra, also remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Officers from Gwent Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have captured dashcam footage.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the force said: "A second woman has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Pontllanfraith on Saturday 8 May.
