Second person charged over Canberra shooting that left one man seriously injured

Blood splatters could be seen on the driveway in Theodore after the shooting.

A second person has been charged over a shooting in Canberra's south in March that left one man seriously injured and nearby properties sprayed with bullets.

Benjamin James Moarefi, 27, pleaded not guilty to aiding and abetting an attempted murder.

He is the second man charged over the incident, after Chris Cunningham, 32, faced court last week charged with attempted murder.

He did not enter a plea.

A man was shot on Freda Gibson Circuit in Theodore on Saturday March 2, and left a trail of blood up the street as he fled, seeking medical attention.

Police recently said the man was "recovering well".

Mr Moarefi handed himself into police on Friday night, and did not apply for bail when he faced court.

Police raided properties in Fyshwick and Calwell, allegedly finding a 30/30 calibre lever-actioned rifle.

More ammunition, as well as the drug methylamphetamine, was allegedly found elsewhere in during the raids.

Mr Moarefi will face court again in July.
