A bikie has faced a Perth court accused of orchestrating the fatal shooting of a rival gang member and conspiring to murder two other people.
David James Pye, 39, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday via videolink from custody.
He has been charged with the murder of former associate and senior Rebels bikie Nick Martin, who was shot dead from long range at Perth Motorplex in December.
It is alleged Pye, who is facing a total of six charges, organised and paid for Martin to be shot in a sniper-style attack.
The shooter, a 35-year-old man whose identity is suppressed, has pleaded guilty to Martin's murder and will be sentenced next month.
Police allege Pye paid the same shooter to murder a woman and another senior bikie who lives overseas.
Their murders never eventuated.
Martin's son-in-law Ricky Chapman, a former Bandidos member, was also wounded in the Perth Motorplex attack and a five-year-old boy was grazed by a bullet fragment.
WA Police deputy commissioner Col Blanch said the violence and intimidation carried out by outlaw motorcycle gangs would not be tolerated.
Numerous raids across multiple bikie clubs were carried out in an attempt to quash further violence following Monday's charges.
"This is a significant arrest and spans across two outlaw motorcycle clubs and goes to show the level of violence they are prepared to go to," Mr Blanch said.
Pye was not required to enter pleas during Tuesday's hearing. He is scheduled to return to court next month.
