Second man charged with Queanbeyan murder, almost a decade later

A 35-year-old New South Wales man has been charged over a 2008 murder in Queanbeyan, almost a decade after another man was convicted over the death.

In 2008, police divers found the body of 46-year-old Danny Ralph in the Queanbeyan River.

Police said he was brutally bashed and thrown from a bridge into the river — probably while still alive.

In 2010, a NSW Supreme Court jury found Benjamin Wayne Holcroft guilty of murder and sentenced him to 22 years in prison.

On Wednesday Adam Molloy was also charged over the murder, after going to the Queanbeyan Police Station.

He appeared briefly in the Queanbeyan Local Court today, where he did not apply for bail.

He is due back in court January 8.
