Second man charged with murder of Canberra artist Eden Waugh

A 22-year-old Ainslie man has been charged with the murder of Canberra artist Eden Waugh in November 2016.

In addition to the murder charge, Peter Forster-Jones will be charged with aggravated burglary over an incident at Mr Waugh's house two months before the fatal shooting.

He is the second man to be charged with murder in the case.

On November 3, 2016, Mr Waugh was at his unit in the suburb of Watson when he was shot in the chest.

It is understood he was killed in front of his girlfriend and police have previously said two men were seen fleeing the shooting.

A shotgun and crowbar were later found in the Queanbeyan river in a search linked to the investigation.

The latest accused appeared in ACT Magistrates Court today. Bail was not applied for and he was remanded in custody to appear again next month.

In December last year, the first man accused of killing Mr Waugh pleaded not guilty to murder charges brought against him.

Police maintain the investigation is ongoing and they "cannot rule out laying further charges".
