Second man charged over alleged torture of woman at Bulimba

A 21-year-old woman was found with severe burns at a Bulimba property on July 2.

A second man has been charged over the alleged serious assault of a 21-year-old woman at Bulimba on Brisbane's southside earlier this month.

A 41-year-old man from Rockhampton in central Queensland has been charged with acts intended to disfigure, grievous bodily harm, torture, deprivation of liberty, and drug offences.

He will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court later today.

The young woman remains in an induced coma in hospital.

A 31-year-old man from Bald Hills, in the northern suburbs of Brisbane, was charged on July 10 with one count each of acts intended to disfigure, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, torture, deprivation of liberty and supply of a dangerous drug.

On July 11, he was additionally charged with one count each of obstructing police, serious assault of police, entering a dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence, robbery, stealing, receiving tainted property and evading police.

He was also charged with two counts each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful entry to a motor vehicle to commit an indictable offence, three counts of wilful damage and four counts of unlicensed driving.
