A second man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Trainspotting actor Bradley Welsh, the Record understands.
The move follows the arrest of a man yesterday by police investigating the slaying in Edinburgh last Wednesday.
Police said the first suspect was released later “pending further inquiries”.
Welsh was shot dead outside his basement flat in the affluent New Town area.
The 48-year-old, who starred in T2 Trainspotting, was chatting to a neighbour when the killer walked up and opened fire.
Father-of-one Welsh died at the scene.
No details about the first man who was arrested, including his age, were released.
Welsh was a former football casual who owned a successful boxing club in the capital.
He turned his life around after spending his teenage years involved with gangs and protection rackets.
As a reformed character, Welsh devoted a lot of time to charity.
Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
