Second man arrested and charged in connection with murder of Alan Ritchie

A second man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Alan Rithcie.

We told how Alan was found seriously injured in a flat in Kennishead Avenue in the Carnwardric area of Glasgow on Tuesday, March 10.

The 61-year-old died at the scene a short time later, sparking a murder probe.

On March 17, Terence Morgan, 31, from Glasgow appeared at the city's sheriff court in connection with the death.

He made no plea and was remanded in custody pending a further court appearance.

On Thursday officers confirmed that a second man, aged 49, had been arrested and charged in connection with Alan's death.

Tributes poured in for 'gentleman' Alan, known as 'Alshy' following his tragic death.

On Facebook one person wrote: "Can't believe he's gone, RIP Alshy.

"You'll be missed by everyone who knew you."

Another added: "I'm really gutted.

"Alan was always smiling."

A third posted: "So sad, what a lovely guy.

"Alshy, you will never be forgotten my wee pal."

Another wrote: "An absolute gentleman who will be greatly missed.

"Rest easy, Alshy."

A police spokesperson told the Record: "Police Scotland can confirm that a second man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Alan Ritchie 61, which occurred in Kennishead Avenue, Carnwardric, Glasgow, on Tuesday, March 10."

"The 49-year-old man is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today on Thursday, March 19."
