A second man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a man in a disturbance in Airdrie last weekend.
Police have confirmed that a 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged assault following the death of Peter McElroy, 45, on Sunday, April 12.
The man is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, April 20.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
Detective Inspector Frank Travers from the Major Investigations Team said: "Again I must thank the support and assistance we have received from the local community following this incident.”
A 38-year-old man has already appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday, April 14, in connection with the death.
