Second man arrested after flat set on fire in Greenock

A second man as been arrested in connection with an attempted murder after a Scots flat was set on fire.

Officers have charged a 22-year-old after a Greenock ground floor flat was set alight in Kincaid Court.

The incident happened on Monday, 28 September sparking a huge police probe into the wilful fireraising.

It comes after a 21-year-old man was questioned on October 16 following the alleged deliberate fire at the property.

Police say he was later released pending further investigations.

Detective Superintendent Gerry McBride of Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Division said: “This is the second arrest and charge in connection with the incident at Kincaid Court in September.

“Enquiries remain ongoing and I would continue to urge anyone with information to contact police.”
