Second Donald Trump golf course given green-light by Aberdeenshire councillors

A second golf course has been given the go-ahead at the controversial Donald Trump resort in Aberdeenshire.

The MacLeod course, named after the US president’s Lewis-born mother Mary Anne, could now pave the way for 550 homes at Menie Links, near the village of Balmedie.

Councillors, meeting in nearby Ellon, voted by eight to four in favour of another 18 holes alongside Trump’s championship links. Tomorrow, the full Aberdeenshire Council will consider a £150million housing plan featuring mansions at £1.3million.

Trump has said he would get a Nobel Prize if they were given out fairly.

When he met Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday, a reporter suggested if Trump could resolve the Kashmir Region stand-off, he would deserve the Nobel Prize.

Trump said he would get the Nobel Prize “for a lot of things if they gave it out fairly, which they don’t”.
