Second day of strikes at Aberdeen and Glasgow airports

Staff at Aberdeen and Glasgow airports have walked out for a second 12-hour strike this morning.

The security, fire and operations personnel are in dispute with owner AGS over pay and pensions and staged a 12-hour walkout on Friday, which caused queues at security and delays to flights.

Glasgow Airport apologised again to passengers, saying: "We apologise to our customers for the delay at security this morning. Following the commencement of industrial action and transition to our contingency in security, we have experienced longer than normal queues. We thank you for your patience and understanding."

Unite union members at the airports are to take action until 4pm today. Check-in staff and baggage handlers are still at work.

AGS said it had plans to ensure "business as usual" at both airports. There were no flights appeared to be departing on time from Aberdeen Airport but delays of up to half an hours were expected at Glasgow .
