A second coronavirus outbreak in less than a week has been confirmed at Ayr's Kyle Academy.
More pupils at the secondary school have been ordered to self-isolate after another student tested positive for Covid-19.
On Friday pupils and parents were alerted following a positive case of the virus linked to the school.
The health board launched a contact tracing operation and bosses said "a small number of individuals were contacted by the Test and Protect team and told to self-isolate."
But just six days later another positive case has been confirmed at the school.
It comes after similar outbreaks were confirmed at Holmston Primary, Belmont Academy, Ayr Academy and Coylton Primary.
All of the cases have been confirmed just days after the children returned from the October holidays and at both Coylton and Holmston a full class are in isolation.
NHS Ayrshire & Arran bosses confirmed Kyle Academy's second outbreak this afternoon (Thursday).
Joy Tomlinson, Joint Director of Public Health said: "NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s Test & Protect team is currently conducting contact tracing within Kyle Academy in the South Ayrshire Council where a small number of individuals are being told to self-isolate at home for 14 days.
"In line with our usual approach to protect pupils and staff, any individuals with symptoms are asked to seek testing and self-isolate. This will help us to protect all pupils and staff at the school.
"We appreciate this is a very worrying time. However, we would like to assure people that every measure is being taken to protect pupils and staff.
"To respect and maintain patient confidentiality it is not possible to release any further information at this time."
