Second £10,000 haul found in a week as net closes on suspected drug dealers

Three scrambler bikes, cannabis and a massive haul of cash were among the goods seized following an arrest in Bootle.

Pictures released by Merseyside Police revealed the huge sums of money passing through the drugs trade.

Bundles of notes and a hoard of coins made up what was around £10,000 recovered in the operation.

The cash haul included £50, £10 and £5 notes and dozens of £1 coins.

Alongside the money, police found bags of Class B drug cannabis and three off-road bikes.

The discovery led to the arrest of a man for possession with intent to supply cannabis, theft and money laundering.

The seizure was the second £10,000 cash haul made by officers in Sefton in just over a week.

Days earlier a raid in Lydiate led to the recovery of further bundles of cash and wardrobe of designer clothes.

Merseyside Police seized cocaine, cash and designer clothing during the execution of a warrant on an address in Lydiate (Merseyside Police)

Outfits and trainers made by Nike, The North Face, Hugo Boss and Berghaus were among those seized. Police showcased the recovered goods in a picture that included framed images of Louis Vuitton and Prada shop fronts and of hip hop legend the Notorious B.I.G.

Cocaine was also seized in that raid, which like the Bootle arrest formed part of Merseyside Police's Operation Pelican, an ongoing probe into crime in the Sefton area.
