Secom puts high spec robots on patrol

A security robot has been developed that will fight off intruders by emitting smoke, major security firm Secom Co. announced Thursday.

If the AI- and 5G-equipped robot Cocobo encounters anyone suspicious while on patrol in various business or office buildings, it will intimidate them by emitting a combination of sound, light and smoke.

By analyzing images taken on its pre-determined route with its built-in camera, the robot will also notify the disaster control center if it detects any abnormalities inside its designated facility. It is also capable of detecting explosions, gas leaks and fires.
