West Ham are today hoping to complete a £45million club-record deal for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller.
The Hammers agreed a fee with the Bundesliga club on Tuesday for the Frenchman as they look to bolster their attacking options. Haller had his medical on Tuesday and West Ham were this morning ironing out the final details of the deal.
The club had previously looked close to signing Maxi Gomez from Celta Vigo but he opted to join Valencia. Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson was also a target, but the England international agreed fresh terms on a new contract.
Last season, Haller, 25, formed a strong strike partnership with Luka Jovic, who has since joined Real Madrid. He scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga last season, while he also contributed nine assists.
Part of his task will be filling the void left by Marko Arnautovic, who this summer left West Ham for Chinese side Shanghai SIPG for £22.4m.
