Sebastien Haller and Pablo Fornals make West Ham debuts as Manuel Lanzini's strike sinks Fulham

Manuel Lanzini marked his return to full fitness with a stunning strike as West Ham beat Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage.

The Argentinian playmaker curled home a beautiful effort from the edge of the box on 18 minutes as the Hammers overcame their London rivals.

Sebastien Haller and Pablo Fornals made their debuts for the Irons after their respective moves from Eintracht Frankfurt and Villarreal.

And it was the former who came close to opening his West Ham account, responding first to the rebound but somehow his effort was kept out by Marcus Bettinelli.

Fornals, making his first appearance in a claret and blue shirt since his £24 million move, played the first half before being replaced by Andriy Yarmolenko.

Haller, meanwhile, managed 65 minutes in his first outing as he made way for Javier Hernandez.

It was the perfect response from Manuel Pellegrini's side after back-to-back defeats to Manchester City and Newcastle United in the Asia Trophy.

They will face Hertha Berlin on Wednesday before a final pre-season fixture against Athletic Bilbao on August 3.
