SeaWorld Entertainment: Rudolph & friends will become longtime holiday offering through 2024

Yes, it may be August but that isn't stopping theme parks from promoting their holiday lineups.

SeaWorld Entertainment has announced it has extended a contract to bring Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and friends into several theme parks _ including Orlando _ through January 2024.

Rudolph, Yukon Cornelius and other characters from the 1964 holiday classic will be featured in character meet-and-greets, games and dining at the parks, according to a company press release.

"We are thrilled that Rudolph will continue to be part of the wonderful Christmas experiences at SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Sesame Place," said Jonathan Flom, founder, Character Arts, which holds the license to Rudolph, in a press release. "These characters have already been so well-received by park guests, and we are looking forward to continuing sharing the holiday fun."

SeaWorld interim CEO John Reilly called the Chrismas offerings interactive and family-friendly.

"Generations of our guests have grown up with Rudolph and we are happy to continue the tradition at our popular holiday events," Reilly said in a statement.

The parks' holiday festivities kick off in late November and run through December.
