Seattle Seahawks player of the game: Running back Chris Carson

Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson needed to have a good game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and he did just that. Carson was a huge part in Seattle’s 27-10 win to help the Seahawks advance to 3-1 on the season.

After fumbling three times in Seattle’s first three games to lead the league, Carson’s confidence needed a boost – and the Arizona defense was more than willing to accommodate.

“I was just waiting for Chris to put that stuff to bed and really get going,” coach Pete Carroll told reporters after the game. “He ran really tough all day long, didn’t change his style at all. If anything, he ran as hard as he’s run all year.”

Carson finished Week 4 with 22 carries for 104 yards on the ground, adding 41 yards on four receptions through the air. He did rush for a touchdown, although it was called back thanks to a holding penalty by tight end Will Dissly, leading to a touchdown for C.J. Prosise instead.

Regardless, Carson proved he deserves the top spot in Seattle’s backfield with his strong performance on Sunday.

“I was convinced Chris was just going to put it away,” Carroll said. “And he did.”
