Seattle Seahawks have NFL’s toughest 2nd-half schedule

The Seattle Seahawks are 6-2 at the halfway point of the 2019 season, although many of their games have been extremely close, and against inferior opponents.

That has many fans concerned about the latter half of the year, which will include a much more daunting slate of opponents.

In fact, according to opponents’ winning percentage, the Seahawks have the most difficult remaining schedule in the NFL. Seattle’s remaining opponents have a winning percentage of .642, considerably higher than the second team on the list, Atlanta, whose opponents are winning games at a .627 rate.

Seattle’s difficult schedule includes two games against the currently 7-0 San Francisco 49ers, their division rival and the team that will have the biggest influence on what seed Seattle gets in the playoffs.

The Seahawks will also take on the Vikings (currently 6-2), Rams (5-3), Panthers (4-3) and the Eagles (4-4).

It goes without saying that Seattle will have to play like they did in the first half against Atlanta, when they jumped out to a 24-0 lead, as opposed to the second half, when they got outscored 20-3.

If they can routinely play a full 60 minutes of good football, they should come out of this daunting second half with a spot in the playoffs.

If they continue to only put together partial games, well, it could get ugly this winter.
