SEAT dealer wins SMTA award as 'a local hero'

A FAMILY-RUN dealership has won a major honour for its work helping the local community and fundraising events.

Lanarkshire SEAT dealer W Livingstone received a Community Activity Recognition award at the Scottish Motor Trade Association annual dinner in Glasgow.

The association was impressed by the long-standing support the Uddingston outfit gives to major charity and local project fundraising events such as the Bothwell Scarecrow Festival.

The motoring retailer also sponsors several local sports clubs, funding much-needed equipment and enabling them to take part in competitions.

Boss Robin Livingstone said: “We are delighted to receive this award. The mindset of our family business has always been to work closely with and support our community wherever we can.

“Receiving this recognition from the Scottish Motor Trade Association is an unexpected pleasure and real motivation to keep our community links.”
