Season will go down to the wire for all three West Lothian clubs

The season is set to go right down to the wire for all three West Lothian clubs in the East of Scotland Football League.

On what could be a dramatic final day of the season on Saturday, Broxburn Athletic, Linlithgow Rose and Blackburn United all need to pick up the points for different reasons.

Athletic and Rose are vying for top spot with Brian McNaughton’s side holding a two-point advantage.

Broxburn travel to Stirling University knowing a win will see them crowned champions and secure a place in the play-off for the overall East of Scotland championship.

However, if Broxburn fail to win, then three points for Linlithgow away to Jeanfield Swifts would see Mark Bradley’s men pip their neighbours to the post.

The points are no less vital for Blackburn United, either, as they visit Edinburgh United in their final game of the season.

A win for Blackburn would see them jump into fifth place in the Conference C table and that would secure them a place in next season’s East of Scotland Premier League.
