'Season is a write off' - Sunderland fans react to Shrewsbury Town defeat

Sunderland fans have called to 'write the season off' after their disappointing 2-1 defeat at Shrewsbury Town.

The Black Cats started well at the Montgomery Waters Meadows but a second half collapse saw Lee Johnson's side fail to capitalise on one of their games in hand.

Kyril Louis-Dreyfus was in the stands as he took in his first Sunderland game in person.

It raises so many questions regarding a completion of the proposed takeover and Black Cats fans were hopeful that his presence would be a sign of better things to come.

They took to social media to deliver their verdict after the game.

SAFCTim tweeted: "Absolutely nothing to get excited about at SAFC .

"This season is a write off. New signings that are playing look poor - full backs atrocious, goal keeper a joke , two centre midfielders so negative and no legs for gods sake.

"Lee Johnson get some youth and legs in the team your selection was dire."

In regards to Louis-Dreyfus taking over at the club, Danny Sloan said: "Probably doesn’t want it now after that s**** tonight."

Lewis Campbell agreed, he said: "He’ll be thinking what have I got myself into."
