Seaside summer event with deckchairs and fish & chips coming to Liverpool

Liverpool's Royal Albert Dock is being transformed for its new summer campaign, focusing on all of the features of the Great British Seaside.

All of the most-loved elements of the typical British seaside experience will be available, from giant deck chairs and decorations, to chip cones and ice-cream.

Oversized deck chairs have been placed at both Anchor and Mermaid Courtyards, ready for all of your selfie needs this summer.

Alongside the physical transformations, the resident bars and restaurants at Liverpool’s waterfront are also getting involved in all of the seaside-style fun.

Visitors will be able to grab a chip cone from award-winning Docklands Fish & Chips, a tasty tub of gelato from Peaberry Coffee House and Kitchen or sugar-coated churros from Revolucion de Cuba.

Also joining in with the summer offerings is Albert Dock’s resident seafood experts Lerpwl, which has a whole day of seafood samplings on offer.

Lerpwl will be hosting two sittings on Thursday, August 5 offering a five or ten course tasting menu for either lunch or dinner, showcasing a variety of their finest seafood accompanied by fresh local produce. Ten percent of the food bill at Lerpwl will also be given to the Fisherman’s Mission charity.

Alongside Lerpwl’s offerings, gin and pizza bar Turncoat Bar has also revealed its new summer programme. Exclusive cocktails, gin tastings, and gin launches are all part of the summertime plans, with Turncoat’s new free monthly comedy nights also beginning on August 8.

The Dock’s summer programme offerings don’t stop there, as the Canal and River Trust’s ‘Wellbeing Weekender’ is set to take place on August 20-22. The free event will have a host of water-based activities on offer, as well as boat trips.

Marking the end of the fun-filled seaside celebrations is the first ever Rose Festival. Taking place across the August bank holiday weekend, it’s set to be the ultimate summer wine experience, with more details to follow.
