A teenage girl has been missing for more than a week has been sighted.

Sophie Walton was last seen on the evening of Sunday May 10. She was staying with family in Nottinghamshire but left in the middle of the night, say Derbyshire Constabulary.

The 16-year-old is from Pilsley originally and has links to Chesterfield, New Whittington and Whittington Moor.

Police say she was seen in New Whittington and Brimington, Derbyshire, in recent days as they continue the appeal to find her.

The force said she is white, slim, 5ft 6ins tall and has long hair that is dyed purple. She may be wearing a black fur bomber jacket, grey skinny jeans and white Nike trainers.

If you know where Sophie is, or you have seen her during your daily exercise outside, please contact Derbyshire Constabulary quoting reference 302 of May 11.
