Searches are continuing for a 17-year-old boy who went missing while swimming in a lake in Worcestershire.

The teenager went into the water at Shavers End Quarry - known as "the blue lagoon" - in Dunley, near Stourport, on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services attended the scene and carried out a search of the lake.

However, they were unable to find the boy.

The lake will continue to be searched today.

A cordon is currently in place to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.

Detective Inspector Justin Taylor said: “We’re supporting the boy’s family as our searches of the lake continue."
