Three people are expected to be charged following a break and enter in Lake Macquarie on Sunday morning.

On February 23, between 1am and 5am, three offenders attended at a Teralba scrap metal dealer, police said.

They allegedly gained entry to the premises and stole about $10,000 worth of scrap copper.

Lake Macquarie Police District detectives investigated the matter further.

As a result of the investigations, police conducted a search warrant at a property in Holmesville on February 25.

Police said they recovered the allegedly stolen property and identified three people of interest in the theft.

The people of interest are expected to be charged soon.
