A search is underway to uncover the identify of the 'Bigfoot' Dublin monster who destroyed a fresh cement pavement in the late hours of Monday night.
The Palmerstown giant jumped across the new pavement before fleeing the scene leaving a trail of grey while on their way home.
Locals were left furious when they woke up to the news that the new pavement was dotted with several footprints with further construction work now needed on the small project leading to extra unnecessary delays.
Now, the residents of the Palmerstown area are eager to find out who the culprit is with one person calling it the "work of bigfoot".
One local said: "If your child comes home with cement on their runners you know you have a vandal on your hands."
Another warned of the hazardous conditions that the botched pavement is now in saying: "Someone will trip on that when it's dry. What happened to the kids writing their names?"
Others complained that people had not been notified about the closure of the footpath in time and stated that now it would lead to further obstruction.
An angry local said: "The bridge was closed off with no notice to the public. People should have been notified that it was going to happen.
"I don’t agree with people walking in the wet cement but the other option would have been to cross the junction with no pedestrian lights or walk down to the next set of pedestrians lights down at the garage to cross the road.
They concluded: "No proper measures were put in place for people who would need to use the bridge."
Another person added: "I think people are missing the point about the footprints. Some bright spark thought they could just close off the path with no consideration for wheelchair or pram access and no access to the footbridge to cross the main dual carriageway."
