A multi-agency search operation is under way after a man was reported missing on an Irish mountain on Monday afternoon.
Gardai, the Coast Guard, Mayo Mountain Rescue and local volunteers are all taking part in the search on Connacht's highest mountain.
The man, aged in his mid-30s, was climbing Mweelrea mountain, outside Westport in Co Mayo yesterday when the alarm was raised.
He is understood to be visiting Ireland from the UK, and he was reported missing when he failed to return from the mountain on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services were notified, and a search and rescue operation was subsequently launched last night.

It was paused in the early hours of this morning but has since resumed.
It is understood that weather conditions around the mountain are hampering the search efforts, with cloud and rain in the area today.
A garda spokesperson said: "A search and rescue operation involving Gardaí, Mayo Mountain Rescue and Coast Guard commenced shortly after 9pm on Monday 16th August when a hill walker was reported lost on Mweelrea Mountain.
"The operation ceased at 2am this morning but has since recommenced."
