The search for a teenager who was swept out to sea off Victoria's west coast is entering its third day.
Police are on the scene at Cape Bridgewater and are coordinating Thursday's search for the 14-year-old boy who went missing on Tuesday night.
He was with a 15-year-old friend in a rock pool when the pair were hit by a large wave and sucked out into the ocean.
The other boy clung to a rock before he scrambled to shore, but his missing mate was washed further out.
Police are being supported by State Emergency Service personnel.
"Search and rescue crews expected to recommence the water search around 11am," a police spokeswoman said.
While the missing boy was wearing a wetsuit and is believed to have good swimming skills, rough conditions were hampering rescue efforts, Inspector Stephen Thompson said on Wednesday.
The search area encompasses a 10km strip of rocky coastline.
