Search ongoing for two men who fled the scene after fatal crash

Police are continuing to search for two men who fled the scene after a fatal crash in Whitefield.

The horror crash, which involved three vehicles, happened on Bury New Road on November 4.

Bar manager Aaron Jarvis was taken to hospital from the scene, but sadly passed away later that morning.

The 31-year-old was a back-seat passenger in a BMW 320D which crossed the central reservation onto the opposing carriageway before colliding with a black Renault Megane, police said.

One man, aged 48, was in a critical condition in hospital and the other, aged 30, was treated for minor injuries.

After the crash, Aaron's family paid a heartfelt tribute to him and said they will 'miss him more than words can say'.

In a tribute issued through GMP, they said: "Our son Aaron was sadly taken away from us in the early hours of Thursday 4th November.

"He leaves behind loving parents, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and hundreds of friends to whom we are greatly indebted to for looking after him in the Manchester area.

"Aaron was a fun-loving free-spirited party-loving lad that just loved everyone and everyone loved him - the tributes that have been sent from his friends are heartfelt and appreciated by his whole family.

"He will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

"We miss him more than words can say and love him with all of our hearts.

"But this is only goodnight and not goodbye, love you Son."

Aaron, who was originally from Stoke-on-Trent, worked as a bar manager at Tribeca bar in Manchester's Gay Village.

Touching tributes for him, including large balloons that spelled out his name, flowers and photographs, were placed outside the bar after he died.

A memorial for him was also held in Sackville Gardens, where fireworks were set off and balloons were released.
