An elderly man from Gateshead who went missing on Saturday has been found safe and well, police have confirmed.
George Renwick, 91, went missing from a home in Lobley Hill on Saturday afternoon causing his family to grow increasingly concerned for his welfare.
He was last seen leaving an address in the Pinewood Gardens area of Lobley Hill at around 3pm on Saturday and was believed to have driven off in a blue Audi 100.
A search was launched to find him and police were asking members of the public to get in touch if they saw anyone matching George’s description.
Officers confirmed that George had been found safe and well just after 9am on Sunday.
