A pensioner who went missing from North Shields has been found safe and well.
Hilda Mooney, 78, was reported missing after she was last seen in the Bedford Street area at about 11am on Friday.
Officers grew increasingly concerned for her welfare and asked the public for help to track her down.
However, on Friday afternoon, it was confirmed that she had been found.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "We’re pleased to confirm that missing person Hilda Mooney has been located safe and well.
"Thanks to all who shared the appeal."
