Search on for new chair of the body running professional rugby in Wales

The search is on to find a new chair of the body that governs professional rugby in Wales.

It comes after the decision of Amanda Blanc to stand down as chair of the Professional Rugby Board (PRB), which is made up of representatives of the four professional rugby regions in Wales and the Welsh Rugby Union.

Ms Blanc, who is chief executive of global assessment management business Aviva, was appointed chair of the PRB in December 2019. She succeeded inaugural chair David Lovett.

The search will begin immediately to appoint her successor. Ms Blanc will remain as chair until a new appointment is made.

The PRB was created in 2018, Its board consists of senior representatives from the WRU and each of the regions alongside two independently appointed members, including its chair.

The PRB is currently made up of: Ms Blanc, independent member and chair; Marianne Okland, independent member; David Buttress, chairman of the Dragons; Simon Muderack, chairman, Scarlets; Rob Davies, chairman of the Ospreys; Alun Jones, chairman of Cardiff Rugby; Tim Moss, WRU Group finance director and WRU group chief executive Steve Phillips.
