Search on for man who fell off Carnival cruise ship off Florida coast

ORLANDO, Fla. _ The Coast Guard is on the search for a man who reportedly fell overboard from a Carnival Cruise Line ship that sailed out of Tampa.

"On Tuesday morning, a male guest went overboard as the ship was sailing from Tampa to Key West, Florida," reads a statement from Carnival Cruise Line. "The Coast Guard was notified and is currently conducting a search for the guest. We are cooperating fully with all authorities. Our Care Team is providing support and assistance to the guest's family."

Brian Lamonds, 50, of Greensboro, N.C., was a passenger on board Carnival Paradise, and was reported missing from the ship by 10 a.m. Tuesday about 85 miles west of Fort Myers.

The Coast Guard dispatched search and rescue operations out of Clearwater, Miami and Key West.

Carnival Paradise was on the second day of a six-night cruise out of Tampa.
