A SEARCH has been launched for a runner after a woman was assaulted in a wooded area in Dumfries and Galloway.
Police are looking for a male runner who pushed a 51-year-old woman to the ground while she was walking her dog in the Dalbeattie woods on Wednesday at around 11:35am.
The woman did not require medical treatment, and the man continued running, police said.
The suspect is described as wearing black clothing, which included a hooded top and a snood.
Inspector Lyndsey Nicolson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and to trace the man involved.
“If you were in the area of Dalbeattie woods on Wednesday morning, or have any information that may assist us, please contact 101 quoting incident number 1192 of August 6.”
